Long ago in yesteryear the 49'ers were feared among the NFC with the invention of the West Coast offense. Now under the helm of coach Mike Nolan, the 49'ers new identity will be tough defense and precision offense. The offense led by QB Alex Smith and RB Frank Gore the offense should be improved with WR additions Ashley Lelie and Darrell Jackson. On defense, newcomer DB Nate Clements and rookie Patrick Willis will try match effort with expectation as they try to solidify the defensive side of the ball.
