The Blues acquired their goalie of the present and future by trading for Jaraslav Halak. Halak's postseason run and regular season success convinced the Blues to pull the trigger and let Chris Mason walk. 

Last season was rough early and led to Andy Murray getting the axe and David Payne took over and nearly pulled off a late season playoff push. If Halak continues his success in the bluenote, this season should be an improvement as the Blues hope for bounce back years from Brad Boyes, Perron and TJ Oshie and continued improvement from Berglund, Backes and Johnson.
